So, there’s this…

I know it’s been a while since I posted anything. I’ve been incredibly busy (doing RL things), I’ve missed a LOT of social media happenings and I apologise for being absent.

But I come bearing news.

You may or may not have been aware that I have a job in real life. It really is no surprise, or great shock to anyone who knows me, that I loathed it. It was stressful and the money was crap, but for seven years I put up with it because it was, well… a job.

Well, it is no more.

Next Friday (May 30th – 7 working days from now, not that I’m counting) will be my last day.

I will be writing full-time, and I fucking can not wait.

I am truly blessed to have a hubs who believes, and encourages me to follow my dreams.  I had said I would find another job that suited better, and he told me not to. “Give the writing gig a go,” he said.  Just. Like. That.

Soooo, that being said, I have writerly-stuff to do!   I will be busy making this work – failure is just not an option. 🙂  In other news, I’m also in the process of setting up a website where you can buy my self-published books directly.  I have a new cover (and WIP news) to share soon, but you’ll have to wait a little longer for those (until it’s all finalised, that is) and once this major shift in careers is done and I get myself organised and settled, I’ll be writing, writing, writing…

And, despite sounding like a rehearsed Oscar winner, I would sincerely like to thank the amazing people who have supported me over the last few years, who have bought, read and reviewed (and kept me sane) because without you, I couldn’t make this happen.

Yay! So excited for you because anyone who’s your FB friend is fully aware you hate your job. Very best of luck, though I have a feeling you’ll do well at this writing gig 🙂

I had a discussion with another reader the other day, who was absolutely RAVING about your work and it made me feel very warm and excited on your behalf.

stay in touch and I for one am look soooooo forward to your next installment of reading entertainment.

Wonderful news! A little scary, but so exciting. Best of luck. I look forward to reading your future work (especially if you give us more characters like the crew from the Blind Faith series)!!!

COngrats on changing up your career choice! Kudos to your hubby for giving you the freedom to follow your heart. Your books & characters are amazing and I look forward to more books of yours in the future. You will be much happier living your dream and leaving the stress behind. Your blood pressure will thank you too. Your future awaits!

I too found myself at the crossroads at the end of February…I suddenly found myself unemployed. But sometimes there’s a silver lining in that dark cloud. I’m following my dream of following the Rodeo circuit this summer…without worry about which shows I have to miss because of a unbending work schedule. I do Sports Photography…specializing in Pro Hockey & Rodeo. I still have to keep looking for employment, but in the mean time the cameras are packed & the batteries are charged. LOL. Giddy Up!

Pro Hockey??? And rodeo??? OMG how do you concentrate?? LOL I’d be far too busy drooling. You don’t by chance ever get to photograph Toews and Kaner? LOL I have some VERY invested friends 😉
But yes, I had planned to give notice later in the year, but they needed someone who could work longer hours and beat me to the punch line. But as you said, there was a silver lining and in fact, I think it was the best thing to happen 😀
I wish you all the best in your change of career as well. And I must say, your chosen subjects are divine 😉 <3 <3

How exciting! I have always loved your stories (I was so sad when you left ffn). Then I read your “Blind Faith” series and fell in LOVE with Carter and Isaac! I then found your blog and saw “Sixty five hours”, I realized who you were and it made my day to see that you were still writing! Of course, I have purchased and read all of your work (read many of the books several times!). I am very happy for you that this has become a dream come true for you. I wish you much success and I will continue to be a faithful fan! I look forward to new stories and new characters and fingers are crossed for some more of Carter and Isaac and the Blind Faith characters. Good luck!

BEST NEWS EVER!!!! *happy dance* I did the same exact thing back in 1999. I was waiting on tables after not finding a teaching job after collage and I had a hobby hosting and creating websites. My husband and I agreed to give me 2 years to make it work as a business and, it was a success! I sold the business in 2012, still work for the company and we will both retire at 50 with a nice nest egg.

Sometimes to just have to take a chance and buckle down and remember it’s for the love of the work. We lived 5 of those years on 1 salary and it sucked hardcore, but we were happy and are reaping the benefits now. And now YOU will be making all of US happy with all your KICK ASS BOOKS!

BEST NEWS EVER!!!!! Love and luck!
