• ARCs for Spencer Cohen, Book One and Request Forms

    SpencerRedNrWalker

If any review sites would like to receive an ARC for Spencer Cohen Book One, you can do so by choosing one of the two following options:

You can join Enticing Journey’s Release Blitz or
you can join my own little blog tour by filling out THIS form

Enticing Journey are a fabulous book promotion site that are running a blitz for each release in my Spencer Cohen trilogy. They have a great reach in a range of genres, so if you want to get on their radar, check them out and say hi. They’re a lovely team to work with.

ARCs will be sent out on/after February 4th, release day is February 18th.

    Spencer Cohen, Book One blurb:

Spencer Cohen is the guy who gets answers to relationship questions. Playing the role of the new lover, his job is to make his client’s ex realise one of two things: he doesn’t want to break up or he really does. Either way, his client gets answers.

The ex would either apologize and beg, or turn and walk. But in the end, Spencer’s client won. If he wanted his ex back and got him, it was great. If the guy walked away, then as hard it was for the client, he knew it was over. Regardless of the outcome, Spencer’s work was done.

Andrew Landon’s ex left him without so much as an explanation. But his sister can’t stand to see him miserable, so, much to Andrew’s dismay, they hire Spencer to be Andrew’s new boyfriend to get the ex back.

For Spencer, it is never personal. Merely a business transaction. No emotions, no strings, no complications.

    Yeah right.

Even a blind man could see how this would end.

  • Good Morning Monday!

    Good Morning Monday pic

My second Good Morning Monday post in a row!  Look at me go! LOL

So, this last week as been fairly productive. My word count on Spencer 3 is now at 38K, and I’m thinking there will be approx 10K to go. I have also done first round edits on Spencer 2, tweaked a few things in Spencer 1 before getting ARCs ready and formatting. I’ve also pre-read, proof-read and read for fun! 🙂

I also have some more info on my 2016 writing/release schedule. Please bear in mind this can, and probably will, change. Sometimes things outside our realm of control happen, and sometimes other characters decide their story will be told before someone else’s.  But as of today, 2016 looks like this:

Spencer Cohen, Book One – Feb 18th
Spencer Cohen, Book Two – March 17th
Spencer Cohen, Book Three – April 21st
Romance/angst book with Maasai warrior/white Aussie guy – possibly June/July
Romance book with overweight guy/personal trainer guy – possibly Aug/Sept
Romance/angst book of two guys switched at birth – possibly Nov
And I might also do a short follow up to Ten in the Bin as well at some point.

Please note I’ve not given any tentative titles to books after my Spencer Cohen Series. I will share the actual titles when I have them, and when/if the actual books are written. I once mentioned the title of a book I wanted to write, and the next day it was on Goodreads. And they wouldn’t remove it. I tried explaining the book hadn’t even been written, but alas, they still wouldn’t take it down. *sigh* Ah, good ol’ Goodreads. Never fails to dismay.  LOL But all jokes aside, I now don’t give titles unless they’re the final thing.  Not even working titles, not tentative titles.

Oh, and the above schedule doesn’t include translations – I will be having six translated titles this year, I believe.  Red Dirt Heart 1 into French, Red Dirt Heart 1 &2 into Italian, and my Cronin’s Key series into French also.

In other news, I will have the rights to Starting Point return to me in April.  This will be re-released with a new cover probably early May.  The rest of the Turning Point Series will stay with Pride Publishing until mid to late next year 🙂

Speaking of Pride Publishing, my friend S.A. McAuley has the last book of her series out tomorrow!!!  If you’ve not read the Border’s War Series, you must grab it now!  It’s a  M/M futuristic/apocalyptic thriller/romance. You can get the first book for FREE, and the second book for just .99c.  I can’t rave about these books enough: the characters, the political complexities, the plot…. THE PLOT, PEOPLE!  There is so much plot! LOL  I just love Merq and Armise.

You can grab them from Pride Publishing HERE

  • Good Morning Monday!

So I was thinking of doing a weekly update type thingy, going live on Mondays.  I chose Monday because 1) it will give me time to do said updates over the weekend, and 2) Mondays are filled with general suckiness, so this might bring a little cheer into someone’s day.

The posts may or may not always be on time – I truly do suck at blogging – but I’m going to make an effort this year to keep my readers up to date in the world of N.R. Walker. Some posts might be super cool, some might be boring AF, some may be all about my books, some posts might be other authors talking, some posts might be about real life/music/recipes/whatever. I haven’t really decided yet.

I was also told by someone, when I posted about a movie, that they didn’t care about my life or opinions, only my books, and basically that I shouldn’t post anything outside of what they wanted (nice, and completely not egocentric/psychopathetic, huh? *snort*)  But anywhoooo, these Good Morning Monday posts will involve stuff that’s not just about my writing. So, that being said, if you don’t wish to read such posts, simply don’t.  <3

But to start my first Good Morning Monday post of 2016, I’m going to be giving a writerly update 🙂

My current WIP, Spencer Cohen 3 is at 30K words. I’m thinking it will get to 50K all said and done, and I’d like to get it done by the end of the month. It’s doable – if I write 2K a day, I should be good. I normally write 2K a day, give or take, so this should be achievable.

That said, my kids are also still on school holidays. It’s summer holidays here, so they’re off for six weeks. They’re driving me insane having a great time, interrupting me and hollering MUUUUUM from all ends of the house, at all hours of the day, playing music really loudly, fighting each other, and did I mention the interruptions? Needless to say, it’s not conducive to creativity and my patience levels are teetering well into the negative. They go back to school at the end of the month where my daily writing schedule should return to normal.

In other news, Spencer Cohen 1 is ready for ARCs to go out – Release day is Feb 18th.  I’m halfway through edits on Spencer Cohen 2, which is being released on March 17th, and Spencer 3 is due for release on April 21.

After that, I have two novels that have been whispering in my head, which I can’t wait to start. One is very research-heavy, so it might take longer than normal. The other should be fun with a side of angst 🙂 And I could possibly have another series brewing for later in the year.

I will of course post more on the new books when I have something more concrete to show you!

But for now, I want to show you some character inspiration pics of the Spencer Cohen cast and crew.

    Here is Spencer…

    Here is Andrew…

  • **Cover Reveal** The Spencer Cohen Series, Book 1

Every so often, an author will write a character they truly connect with and for me, that happened  with Charlie Sutton from my Red Dirt Heart Series. And, it’s happened again with Spencer Cohen.

I have LOVED giving this character life with words. When I had originally planned this book, the MC was supposed to be a cocky guy (think Lucas from Sixty Five Hours). All swagger and zero giveafucks, self-aware and confident with who he was and what he stood for.

But then I started writing. And Spencer was not any of these things. He was so much more.

With a beard and covered in tattoos, Spencer has survived a rather horrible few years, but he has found where he belongs. And for this Australian guy, that place is LA.  That’s where we meet him, just as his entire world gets knocked of its axis by an argyle sweater wearing geek, Andrew Landon.

I made the original cover but Sara York tweaked and made them perfect.   <3  The release date is February 18th, and now to the fun part.  Here is the gorgeous cover…

It’s a three-part series. Book 2 will be out in March and Book 3 will be out in April. I can’t wait for you all to meet this cast and crew.  I hope you love them as much as me.
