Good Morning Monday! And a Cover Reveal!

Hello Monday!! You guys know I love Monday’s right? They’re my favourite day of the week; after a loud and busy weekend, my hubs goes to work and my kids go to school, and my house is back to blessed silence. I do try and set weekly goals for work stuff, but they don’t always pan out. Last week, I didn’t get the word count I would have liked but I did get some editing done and other admin type stuff so it wasn’t a complete loss.
My WIP word count is now at 53K and it’s going okay. I have some pacing concerns which I’ll probably need to address but I want to get the first draft finished before I worry about that. I’m thinking there’s maybe 20K to go? Not sure. Patrick and Aubrey are all kinds of lovely and I can’t wait for you folks to meet them!
Now, for that cover reveal…
Three’s Company has been out for years. For six years, to be exact. I get the rights back from the publisher on March 21st and as I’ll be self publishing it, it will go live again asap. I really enjoyed revisiting Wil, Adam, and Simon while re-doing edits. I’d forgotten how much I loved them.
So the story is unchanged from its 2015 edition, though it has been re-edited and it has a gorgeous new cover. Reese Dante did the original 2012 cover and I loved it, so I asked her to recreate it, and she did! And as you can see, it’s awesome!

The blurb has been tweaked a bit too!
When he started looking for someone to help heal his broken heart, Wilson Curtis never dreamed he’d find two someones.Â
After Wilson Curtis was publicly outed, his restaurant business left in tatters, and dumped by his closeted boyfriend, he goes to Key West alone. There he meets Simon Stanford and Adam Preston. Fascinated by this couple, he is soon invited into their bed for some holiday fun.
But once isn’t enough, and the offer is extended for the remainder of his stay. As they get to know each other, in and out of the bedroom, sparks fly, and ten days is all it takes to change their lives.
When it comes time for Wil to leave, with tensions closing in and time running out, tempers flare and emotions fray. Beneath the physical attraction and the foolish misunderstandings is the realization these three men aren’t ready to say goodbye.
Wil soon learns that love isn’t always conventional, and the only thing better than giving your heart to one man, is giving it to two.
I’ll have the buy links up as soon as I can!

Along with all my other books, I’ve now added my Blind Faith series back into KU, while taking On Davis Row out. It’s good to keep cycling books around to give everyone a chance to read.
You can find Blind Faith on Amazon/Kindle Unlimited.

You can find On Davis Row at
In audio news…
Red Dirt Heart 4 is out now!!! You can find it at Audible!

And Spencer Cohen Book One is up for pre-order on Audible, due out on the 6th!

Oh, I almost forgot!! If you want a FREE copy of Elements of Retrofit you can sign up to the Gay Romance Readers Club! It’s super easy, and every month you’ll get a newsletter with a link to a free book!! Â How awesome is that! March is my month, so hurry to grab your copy of Elements of Retrofit now!!

Good Morning Monday ~ 2018 has started with a bang!

Yes, 2018 has hit the ground running, that’s for sure! This week alone:
- I wrote 12K to finish the first draft of Evolved – release will be April
- I received edits on Finders Keepers – release 2nd Feb
- I edited Sense of Place and formatted for ebook and paperback (re-release is Jan 17th)
- Release of the Italian translation of Spencer Cohen Book Three
- Beta-read 75K story for a friend
- Had The Weight of It All win Audio of the Year at Open Skye Reviews!
- Had Imago win 2nd place as Book of the Year at Open Skye Reviews
- And The Weight of It All was featured on AudioFile, where Joel won an Earphones Award for the incredible narration, and for a LGBT book – this is kind of HUGE!
- Went through a tonne of admin stuff, including meetings with my accountant, organising blitz tours, ARC tours, and super exciting secret squirrel stuff.
I’m sure there is something else I’m forgetting… But as you can see, it’s been quite a week.

My time at My Fiction Nook as Author of the Month continues! You can read my latest post HERE and you can enter the draw to win an ebook!
Yes, my current WIP is called Evolved, and should be out in April. It’s 60K long (unedited) and I will be spending this week going through it, fixing/tweaking/adding/deleting before sending it off to beta readers. I’ve kept details of this one close to my chest as it’s quite different, and I’ll wait until I hear back from my betas to see what they think.
I did buy a pre-made cover for this about six months ago, but it’s really not right for the story, so I have asked Reese Dante to conjure up some magic for me 🙂
Speaking of Reese Dante and incredibly awesome covers, I don’t believe I’ve shown you the cover for Sense of Place!
In keeping with the first two covers, this will be the forever cover for Sense of Place, and it’s perfect!

And the paperback is GORGEOUS!!

I have the proof of the paperback and can’t wait to hit approve! The three covers together look stunning and I am SO happy to have these boys back under my creative control <3

For my Italian readers, Spencer Cohen Book Three is out now!

Also, in case you weren’t aware, you can also follow me on BookBub for any new deals or discounts, and hang out in my Readers’ Group on Facebook for all the latest news and gossip!
I’m hoping for another busy (read: productive) week. Lots to do and plan for my next book! I have a pre-made cover for it, the location, and how it begins… now I just need the unimportant stuff like character names/histories, title, and plot LOL!
Until then… <3

Good Morning Monday! *sings* And a Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2018!
Before we look forward, let’s take a quick look back at the year that was 2017. It was a busy, busy year, that was for certain. To highlight the positives, there was:
- Eight new releases
- Four re-releases
- Ten translation releases
- Eight audio book releases
No wonder I was busy! LOL  I also had a trip to the US for GRL which was an absolute highlight for me. I also dealt with/am still dealing with some health issues but Australia legalised marriage equality, so I’m considering 2017 a win! 🙂
Also, I have a range of books voted for Best of 2017 on several sites, Best Cover for 2017, (with Imago and On Davis Row) and I’m also up for Author of the Year as well. I’m so honoured and stoked, truly. I really am blessed to have the best job in the world, where I get to create worlds were love wins, and I get to meet and interact daily with the best people. <3
So what does 2018 have in store for N.R. Walker?
Well, I’m hoping for much of the same. I said to a friend on Facebook the other day, all I want for 2018 is peace, health and happiness. Because if I have those, then the words will surely come 🙂 It’s about finding balance and peace of mind, and cutting the negativity out of my life. All I want to do is write books! Lots of them!
And so far my schedule for 2018 looks like this:
- Re-release of Sense of Place (Jan 17th)
- Release of Finders Keepers (late Jan)
- Re-release of Taxes and TARDIS (Feb 21st)
- Release of RDH4 on audio (possibly Feb)
- Re-release of Three’s Company (March 21st)
- Release of current (unnamed) WIP (late March)
- Spencer Cohen Series (all four books) audio releases – Book One in March
- Turning Point Series (all three books) audio releases – Book One in January
- Translation of The Weight of It All in German.
- Translation of Sixty Five Hours in Thai.
- I have NINE pre-made covers I want to write books for (I’m obsessed with pre-made covers LOL) though they won’t all be released this year, but possibly four of them will be.
- And there is the very real possibility of a new series beginning in 2018.
I’m what’s known as a “pantser” meaning I don’t plan or outline my books. That also means I don’t plan or outline my writing schedule. Well, I do. I try to, but it changes. I have no control over which characters get their story written first/next/at all, or how long each book will be. So you can see this writing schedule is pretty vague. The titles I’ve named are the ones I *know* are happening (audios/translations/re-releases). But the new books? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see.
It’s probably better to ask me what I’d like to release, and what I’m aiming for is:
A new release every two months. So far, though it’s subject to (and probably will) change, those months will be Jan, March, May, July, Sept, Nov, and maybe a short Christmas story thrown in sometime around Dec.
But real life will be the determining factor, and my good intentions may all go to shit by mid-January. LOL
I’m not sure what signings or cons I’ll be doing this year. I do know I’ll be at the Sydney Author Event in April (not as a listed author as such – more details to come later). I want to try and do more Australian-based events, so I’m looking around to see what’s on and where.
It’s very unlikely I’ll be at GRL in 2018, but I won’t know until it gets closer.
But in exciting news, I’ll be the Author of the Month for all of January at My Fiction Nook!
Aaaaaand what would a New Year’s Celebration be without a cover reveal?
Made by James at Go On Write, here’s the totally cute cover for Finders Keepers, due out late January. Blurb to come soon!

Okay, so that’s it for today! Wishing you all a very happy and safe New Years! And all the very best for 2018! I’ll be continuing my Good Morning Monday posts, so until next week…

Good Morning Monday! And a COVER REVEAL!

Who wants an exclusive cover reveal?? LOL Of course you do! I’ve had the cover to On Davis Row for aaaaages but as its about 75% written, I thought I’d share the cover with you all!
On Davis Row (which is the story I’m writing) is currently at 55K words, so I don’t have a blurb yet, and I’m aiming for a release date sometime in November.
I first saw the cover on a pre-sale site, and just loved it. It’s quite different to my usual covers – I’m normally drawn to abstract and avoid covers with a sexy guy on the front, but I loved this one. I didn’t have anything written for it, so it sat on my computer for a while, then two characters started to form in my head and I had a title before much of anything else, but I knew this was their cover.
So, without further ado, I present On Davis Row…

Isn’t it GORGEOUS??? Â It was made by Marianne Nowicki at The Premade ebook Cover Shop. On Davis Row is the story of Noah Huxley and CJ Davis, a parole officer and a parolee. At first glance, they seem polar opposites, but as walls start to come down, they realise they’re not that different at all.
I can’t wait for you all to meet Noah and CJ. I was hoping to have it done by the end of this week (before school holidays) but that’s just not going to happen. These boys and their story is longer than I first anticipated. I’m at 55K and they haven’t even kissed yet! So now, my goal is to have it completed by the end of the school holidays (three weeks from now). It’s crazy timing, because I’ll be away for most of the holidays so maybe this new deadline is ridiculous. But fingers crossed!!

A reminder that GRL is fast approaching and the cut off date for ordering signed paperbacks is coming to a close. You can find the order form HERE. Alternatively, you can bring your own copies and I’ll happily sign them there!

And for my audio lovers, SWITCHED is out this week!!!! Â I can’t wait! You can find it at Audible.com
Okay that’s it for this week! I’m hoping for ALL the words! Oh, and a reminder for all my Aussie counterparts…

VOTE YES!!!!

Good Afternoon Thursday! Say what?
So sorry I missed my usual Good Morning Monday post. I was travelling and have been feeling a bit under the weather since I got home. But I come bearing news…
Red Dirt Heart 2 is now available on Audio!!  You can find it on Audible HERE
I’m super excited about this one. Joel Leslie, the narrator, does such a fabulous job. He really captures Charlie and Travis beautifully. Â <3 Â I’ll be running an audio book tour soon! More news on that when it comes to hand.
In other news, The Weight of it All is now currently on sale for .99c at Amazon! Â I’m running a Bookbub deal to coincide with the books’ return to Kindle Unlimited. So if you haven’t read it, now is the time to grab it!! I’ll post links to the Bookbub when I have them!
In translation news, Red Dirt Heart is now available in French! Â When I first wrote these boys, I had no idea my words would reach so many people around the world. I’m very touched that Charlie and Travis’ story is adored by so many <3 Â You can find it at Amazon or with MXM Bookmark Publishing.

You can also grab the Italian version of Red Dirt Heart 2 at Amazon or Triskell

I have it on good authority that the German version of RDH2 isn’t too far away. And the French version of Cronin’s Key II should be out soon too!
To recap, Perfect Catch, has been sitting at #1 in 2-hour short reads on Amazon for a few days now. I’m so thrilled that people have loved Troy and Cal’s story. <3
A quick writing update: Imago is now with my editor! Â It ended up being 45K words long, and is super sweet. I’ll be doing a cover reveal soon, and telling a little story on what happens when you write a book and you’re telling a friend the basic plot line, and she says it sounds familiar and you soon realise you might have just unknowingly copied a book released a few years ago. *sigh* Â Crises averted though, so no need to panic. LOL
Release day of Imago is set for February 21st 🙂
And I’ve started the sequel! Â Woooooot!! Â Lawson and Jack are just so adorable. Can’t wait for you all to meet them.
I also won a lot of awards at the Goodreads M/M readers choice awards!!
The Weight Of It All won Best Contemporary for 2016!
Red Dirt Heart Christmas won Best Short Story for 2016!
The Weight Of It All was third for Best Book of the Year!
The Weight Of It All won second for Best Humour of 2016!
Spencer Cohen Book Three won third for Best Performance Artist (incl Tattooists)
The Weight Of It All won third in Best Friends To Lovers of 2016!
It Was Always You won second in Best Anthology of 2016!
Thank you to all who nominated me and voted for me!Â
Until next time…

Good Morning Monday! Twas two busy weeks before Christmas…

Two busy weeks before Christmas… OMG this year has really flown. Â I will do a recap on 2016 in the next couple of weeks, but for now all I will say is I’m kinda glad it’s almost over… It’s been a SUPER busy week, and the next two will be even more so. *sigh*
My kids finish school this week. Aussie kids are winding down their school year and getting ready for summer break. It’s six weeks of “Muuuum, I’m bored. What can I do?”  I’m looking forward to the sleep-ins, I will admit, but not to the constant interruptions. Working from home is awesome in so many ways, except during school holidays LOL.  I can foresee a lot of hours spent at the local library …  And for the record, whenever my kids tell me they have nothing to do (as they put down their iPhones and step over the PS4 and XBoxOne, ignore the dog, and their bikes and sports gear) I give them housework chores to do. This usually insures two things:  One, they do some housework that I’ve put off doing because I hate it. And Two, they don’t complain to me again.  It’s a win/win  🙂
Okay, so for some news on the writing front…
Switched, all 74K words of it, is with my editor. I’m still shooting for a release date of Dec 27th, but this is tentative. Â My poor editor has been unwell, so basically Switched will release when it’s ready. Â I’d love for it to be before the year ends, but I can’t guarantee it.
Perfect Catch, my 20K short story which was part of the It Was Always You anthology with the other awesome M/M Daily Grind authors will also be out as a separate release in early January.
I have an awesome cover for it, made by the very talented Sara York 🙂

The Blurb:
Calvin Lynch and Troy Hoffman have been best mates since they were fourteen years old. They’re both hard-working tradesmen, both love weekends away fishing, both gay, but have never been single at the same time. Until now.
What is supposed to be a weekend away fishing with a group of mates, changes at the last minute when friends bail out in an attempt to give Cal and Troy some alone time.
With more than just hooks on the line, can these two see what’s been right in front of them the whole time?
The Perfect Catch is a short story about falling for your best friend hook, line, and sinker.
<3
Please Note: Â Perfect Catch will be exclusive to Amazon for 90 days upon release. It is currently available at all retail sites as part of the anthology. You can grab it now from iBooks ~ Amazon ~ Kobo
<3
The N.R. Walker Starter Pack also went live!!!! Â I’m super excited about this. A collection of five of my books (Red Dirt Heart, Cronin’s Key, Sixty Five Hours, Spencer Cohen Book One, and Blind Faith) in the one book for new-to-me readers, or those who might be new to the m/m genre can grab five best-selling books at a bargain price!

You can grab it at Amazon 🙂
And finally, instead of having a break and resting my poor sore hand/wrist, I’ve dived straight into a new WIP.  It was an idea that came from nowhere and it wasn’t even on my schedule to write, but the idea and the characters wouldn’t go away.  So I did the only thing I can do to shut them up, and that’s to write them down.  I’m only 5K words into it but I have a title and a cover already, which I’m keeping it under wraps for now. I don’t want to jinx the story – it’s flowing really well – and I feel if I do a show-and-tell too early, the characters will stop talking.  All I will say, is that it’s Australian based, will be approximately 30K words long (I think) and will be fluff and smut 🙂  I envisage a release date sometime in February 🙂
Okay, told you it was a busy one… Â Until next week.

Good Morning Monday!

My second Good Morning Monday post in a row! Â Look at me go! LOL
So, this last week as been fairly productive. My word count on Spencer 3 is now at 38K, and I’m thinking there will be approx 10K to go. I have also done first round edits on Spencer 2, tweaked a few things in Spencer 1 before getting ARCs ready and formatting. I’ve also pre-read, proof-read and read for fun! 🙂
I also have some more info on my 2016 writing/release schedule. Please bear in mind this can, and probably will, change. Sometimes things outside our realm of control happen, and sometimes other characters decide their story will be told before someone else’s. Â But as of today, 2016 looks like this:
Spencer Cohen, Book One – Feb 18th
Spencer Cohen, Book Two – March 17th
Spencer Cohen, Book Three – April 21st
Romance/angst book with Maasai warrior/white Aussie guy – possibly June/July
Romance book with overweight guy/personal trainer guy – possibly Aug/Sept
Romance/angst book of two guys switched at birth – possibly Nov
And I might also do a short follow up to Ten in the Bin as well at some point. Please note I’ve not given any tentative titles to books after my Spencer Cohen Series. I will share the actual titles when I have them, and when/if the actual books are written. I once mentioned the title of a book I wanted to write, and the next day it was on Goodreads. And they wouldn’t remove it. I tried explaining the book hadn’t even been written, but alas, they still wouldn’t take it down. *sigh* Ah, good ol’ Goodreads. Never fails to dismay. Â LOL But all jokes aside, I now don’t give titles unless they’re the final thing. Â Not even working titles, not tentative titles.
Oh, and the above schedule doesn’t include translations – I will be having six translated titles this year, I believe. Â Red Dirt Heart 1 into French, Red Dirt Heart 1 &2 into Italian, and my Cronin’s Key series into French also.
In other news, I will have the rights to Starting Point return to me in April.  This will be re-released with a new cover probably early May.  The rest of the Turning Point Series will stay with Pride Publishing until mid to late next year 🙂
Speaking of Pride Publishing, my friend S.A. McAuley has the last book of her series out tomorrow!!!  If you’ve not read the Border’s War Series, you must grab it now!  It’s a  M/M futuristic/apocalyptic thriller/romance. You can get the first book for FREE, and the second book for just .99c.  I can’t rave about these books enough: the characters, the political complexities, the plot…. THE PLOT, PEOPLE!  There is so much plot! LOL  I just love Merq and Armise.
You can grab them from Pride Publishing HERE
Until next week… Â <3

Two Days to Red Dirt Christmas!

2 Days and Counting
PRE-ORDER BUYLINKS: Amazon | AllRomance eBooks | Smashwords
Red Dirt Christmas is almost here. It’s Travis’s first Christmas at Sutton Station and Charlie wants to make it special.
Travis had been here at Sutton Station for just over a year. We were technically engaged, not that we’d told anyone. He was happy just knowin’  I’d said yes, and I had some head-clearin’ stuff to work through. Knowing I was good enough for Trav was one thing, but knowing if I was good enough to be a husband and father was somethin’ else entirely.
Life at Sutton Station had never been better. Business was strong, Trudy and Bacon’s little baby, Gracie, was a few weeks old now and as cute as a button, Ma’s health was good, and my relationship with Laura and Sam was in a pretty good place. And Travis? Well, life with him was still all kinds of perfect.
But, to Travis’s dismay, Christmas at the Station was just another day. Another day of getting up before the sun, feeding animals, fixin’ what needed fixin’, and checking water troughs all while tryin’ to keep out of the blistering heat.
And this year weren’t much different. Only that it was Travis’s first Sutton Station Christmas. The fact we didn’t go all out with decorations and celebrations baffled him, and if I was bein’ truthful, it disappointed him too.
Which was why I had to make it a special kind of Christmas…
