Good Morning Monday

  • Good Morning Monday! How on earth is it April already??

I hope everyone had a great Easter, if you celebrate it. If not, I hope you enjoy the discounted chocolate that’s in every store afterwards 🙂

It was another super busy week! I got some feedback and proofing edits for Evolved, which was incredibly fast. And all my proofers have LOVED it, so that makes me feel so much better about it. It’s always daunting to get that first feedback…

In case you missed the cover reveal last week, here it is again!

    Blurb:

In 2068, androids are an integrated part of human life. Big Brother no longer just watches from the shadows. It’s in every household.

Lloyd Salter has OCD issues with noise, mess, and he’s uncomfortable with human interaction. When his ex claimed the only thing perfect enough to live up to his standards was an android, Lloyd dismissed it. But two years later, after much self-assessment, he thinks he may have been right.

SATinc is the largest manufacturer of androids in Australia, including the Fully Compatible Units known as an A-Class 10. Their latest design is the Synthetic Human Android UNit, otherwise known as SHAUN.

Shaun is compatible to Lloyd’s every need; the perfect fit on an intellectual and physical basis. But Lloyd soon realises Shaun’s not like other A-Class androids. He learns. He adapts. Sure that SATinc is aware Shaun functions outside of his programmed parameters, Lloyd must find a way to keep Shaun safe.

No one can know how special Shaun is. No one can know he’s evolved.

I certainly can’t wait for the world to meet Shaun!!! <3

I’ve also trudged through the first read-through of the first draft of Galaxies & Oceans, and have sent it off to some beta-readers. I think the timing might be a little off in the first part of the book so I’m asking for some second opinions.

It’s currently 86K words and I’m still hoping to have it out in June! I found this pic online and I just love it – it’s kinda perfect for Patrick and Aubrey <3

In exciting news, I’m hoping to start my newest book this week – well, notes at least. Maybe a chapter or two.  I found a cover online that sparked a rabid little plot bunny and despite not being on my writing schedule, these are the characters currently talking to me, so they get to go next 🙂

It will be called Private Charter. I’m not expecting it to be overly long, maybe 40K? But I’ve said that before 😉  It will be hot and steamy, and I can’t wait to start it!

Oh, and in audio news, BREAKING POINT (Book 2 in the Turning Point Series) should be out very soon!! I’ll post the buy link as soon as it hits! I’ve heard the proof and all I can say is Sean Crisden freakin’ NAILS his portrayal of Matt. Oh boy… So good!

And SPENCER COHEN BOOK 2 is up for pre-order and will be out April 10th!!! And as always, Joel does a stellar job! His interpretation of Spencer is utter perfection!

So, that’s it for this week!! Next week I will be in Sydney for the Sydney Author Event. I’m not an attending author, but I will be there to help the very lovely Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine <3  But I will hope to do my Monday post… it might be a little late though. There should be photos though!! I can’t wait!

    Until then! <3

  • Good Morning Monday ~ The Cover Reveal of Evolved!

Man, it’s almost April. The mornings are cooler here now, and the sun sets a little earlier, so it’s getting harder to ignore that the year is really pressing on. It’s kinda crazy how fast it seems to go now, it’s like one book release after another. Which is not a bad thing 😉

So in WIP news, I finished Galaxies and Oceans!!  OMG it truly felt like the manuscript that would never end. LOL!!  It finished at 84.5K words, though this week will be spent going back over it and fixing/adding/deleting so there’s no saying what the final word count will be. But Aubrey and Patrick’s story is down, at least, in first draft form. I’m still aiming for a June release, all things going well, and I will keep you all posted on progress.

I do have an amazing cover to show off! Evolved is coming out in under four weeks!!  *flails*  and I can NOT wait for everyone to meet Lloyd and Shaun. It’s a different kind of story, given that Shaun isn’t human. And it is sci-fi, but mostly it’s just romance. Shaun is an android, but he’s more human than most people. I know that sounds weird, but by the year 2068, humans  have retreated to living mostly digital lives, where relationships are online and are somewhat clinical. Along comes Shaun, who is programmed to feel, so there is something very human about how he adapts to life with Lloyd in the physical, non-digital life. Anyway, I’ll let the readers’ decide if they agree with that 😉

    So, enough explanations…

The cover was made by the super-talented Reese Dante. And it is so utterly perfect, I just can’t even deal. LOL  I am so in love with this cover, and I’m sure you can see why…

    BLURB:

And before you can ask, yes, the binary does spell something. Of course it does!! LOL  It spells EVOLVED  🙂

Release date is April 23rd!!  So not far away at all!!

And in case you missed my mid-week post, Three’s Company was re-released on the 22nd. I now have all my books back under my creative control, meaning, all my titles are now self-published under my name – and I’m so freakin’ happy!!  Not including my translated titles, that is. But I’m very happy to have all my books back <3

    Global Buy Link

So that’s it for this week! Next week is Easter, so if you celebrate, I wish you all the very best!  I should be posting next Monday, unless I’m in a chocolate coma… keep your fingers crossed LOL

This week I’m hoping to have the first draft of Galaxies and Oceans whipped into shape and then I can start thinking about which story to write next! Ah, the possibilities of a new book. You know, I sure do love writing the words The End, but writing Chapter One is pretty freaking cool too.

    Until then… <3

  • Good Morning Monday! Wowza, what a week!

Actually, it’s been two weeks since I posted. And a HUGE thank you to the few people who emailed me to see if I was okay! *hugs you all*  Yes, I’m fine – was just away from home last week so couldn’t do my usual weekly update.

I was in Melbourne for an Ed Sheeran concert, which was great!  I had three teens with me LOL so there was a lot of shopping, but we had the best time. 🙂

Despite all the traveling (driving 4 hours then flying for 1.5 hours each way to get there) and being gone for 5 days, and being ridiculously busy when I got home, I did manage to get some writing done this week. My WIP, called Galaxies and Oceans, is at 73K words and I probably have 10K to go. Well, I’m hoping. I’d LOVE to get the first draft done this week. Though I don’t think that’ll be happening, considering I spent most of the day at the hospital with my son for a suspected broken ankle. Don’t worry, he’s completely FINE – except being super pissed and disappointed at having to miss a tennis and a basketball tournament this month. *sigh*

This week is the re-release of Three’s Company!! It’s very coincidental that I get the rights back on my birthday (March 21st) to my very last book with a publisher. From then, all books will be self-published (not all translated titles or audios, obv). It’s like the universe is giving me a little present! 🙂

I’m sure I’ve shown off the amazing cover, but if anyone missed it before, here it is again!

New buy links will be posted as soon as the book goes live. It will take a few days for Amazon to verify the republication, but I’ll post the links asap.

I also have a release date for Evolved!! Get your Kindles ready for April 23rd!! It will be exclusive to Amazon first up. I’ll be sharing the AMAZING cover and blurb with you next week, so stay tuned!!

Oh, and just a heads up that On Davis Row will be on sale for just 99c from around the 5th of April for about a week. The sale will/should be on all sites (Amazon, B&N, Kobo, Smashwords, iBooks, etc).  It will be a part of a Bookbub deal, so if you’ve been holding off on buying it, wait a little while longer and grab yourself a bargain!

Okay, so that’s it for this week! Take care, until then!! <3

  • Good Morning Monday! And a Cover Reveal!

Hello Monday!! You guys know I love Monday’s right? They’re my favourite day of the week; after a loud and busy weekend, my hubs goes to work and my kids go to school, and my house is back to blessed silence. I do try and set weekly goals for work stuff, but they don’t always pan out. Last week, I didn’t get the word count I would have liked but I did get some editing done and other admin type stuff so it wasn’t a complete loss.

My WIP word count is now at 53K and it’s going okay. I have some pacing concerns which I’ll probably need to address but I want to get the first draft finished before I worry about that. I’m thinking there’s maybe 20K to go? Not sure. Patrick and Aubrey are all kinds of lovely and I can’t wait for you folks to meet them!

    Now, for that cover reveal…

Three’s Company has been out for years. For six years, to be exact. I get the rights back from the publisher on March 21st and as I’ll be self publishing it, it will go live again asap. I really enjoyed revisiting Wil, Adam, and Simon while re-doing edits. I’d forgotten how much I loved them.

So the story is unchanged from its 2015 edition, though it has been re-edited and it has a gorgeous new cover. Reese Dante did the original 2012 cover and I loved it, so I asked her to recreate it, and she did! And as you can see, it’s awesome!

The blurb has been tweaked a bit too!

When he started looking for someone to help heal his broken heart, Wilson Curtis never dreamed he’d find two someones.

After Wilson Curtis was publicly outed, his restaurant business left in tatters, and dumped by his closeted boyfriend, he goes to Key West alone. There he meets Simon Stanford and Adam Preston. Fascinated by this couple, he is soon invited into their bed for some holiday fun.

But once isn’t enough, and the offer is extended for the remainder of his stay. As they get to know each other, in and out of the bedroom, sparks fly, and ten days is all it takes to change their lives.

When it comes time for Wil to leave, with tensions closing in and time running out, tempers flare and emotions fray. Beneath the physical attraction and the foolish misunderstandings is the realization these three men aren’t ready to say goodbye.

Wil soon learns that love isn’t always conventional, and the only thing better than giving your heart to one man, is giving it to two.

I’ll have the buy links up as soon as I can!

Along with all my other books, I’ve now added my Blind Faith series back into KU, while taking On Davis Row out. It’s good to keep cycling books around to give everyone a chance to read.

You can find Blind Faith on Amazon/Kindle Unlimited.

You can find On Davis Row at

    iTunes

    B&N

    Kobo

    In audio news…

Red Dirt Heart 4 is out now!!! You can find it at Audible!

And Spencer Cohen Book One is up for pre-order on Audible, due out on the 6th!

Oh, I almost forgot!! If you want a FREE copy of Elements of Retrofit you can sign up to the Gay Romance Readers Club! It’s super easy, and every month you’ll get a newsletter with a link to a free book!!  How awesome is that! March is my month, so hurry to grab your copy of Elements of Retrofit now!!

You can check it out HERE!!

Okay folks, that’s it for today 🙂 I’ll try and post next week though I will be in Melbourne so I may not get time! Until then…

  • Good Morning Monday ~ Another Week!

Can you believe it’s almost the end of February? It’s just crazy how fast this year is going already, and I have a lot happening, as per usual LOL

Re-edited and Re-released, the third edition of Taxes and TARDIS is also out now!!

And on sale for just 99c!!
    BLURB:

Brent is a jock, Logan a geek; these men are a world apart. But if opposites attract, maybe it’s the differences between them that make it worth the fight.

Brent Kelly is a laid-back electrician whose only concerns are drinks with friends and which man to bed next. In need of a new accountant to sort out his nightmarish shoebox of tax receipts, he’s referred to Logan Willis.
He doesn’t expect to be intrigued by the science fiction-loving, geeky guy with dark-rimmed glasses and a TARDIS-blue shirt. So his fascination with the soft-spoken Englishman surprises him, and their mutual attraction is completely unexpected. He most certainly never expects to fall in love.
One a jock and the other a geek, both men know the differences between them are vast and could cause problems. But in this opposites-attract erotic drama, maybe it’s the differences between them that make staying together worth the fight.

    ** 2018 Edition – re-edited, re-released. No new content has been added to the 2015 edition **

    SPENCER COHEN BOOK ONE

    AUDIO PRE-ORDER

I’m very excited to announce that Spencer Cohen, Book One is now up for preorder on Audio!!  Joel Leslie really brings Spencer to life in another incredible performance. It goes live on March 6th!

    Blurb:

Spencer Cohen is the guy who gets answers to relationship questions. Playing the role of the new lover, his job is to make his client’s ex realize one of two things: he doesn’t want to break up or he really does. Either way, his client gets answers.

The ex would either apologize and beg, or turn and walk. But in the end, Spencer’s client won. If he wanted his ex back and got him, it was great. If the guy walked away, then as hard it was for the client, he knew it was over. Regardless of the outcome, Spencer’s work was done.

Andrew Landon’s ex left him without so much as an explanation. But his sister can’t stand to see him miserable, so, much to Andrew’s dismay, they hire Spencer to be Andrew’s new boyfriend to get the ex back.

For Spencer, it is never personal. Merely a business transaction. No emotions, no strings, no complications. Yeah right. Even a blind man could see how this would end.

Point of No Return in Audio

Matt and Kira’s story is FINALLY in audio! I’m so excited for this and I can’t wait for you all to listen!
And I really must say, Sean Crisden’s portrayal of Matthew Elliott is outstanding!

    Blurb:

Matthew Elliot is one of LA’s best detectives. He’s been labeled the golden boy of the Fab Four: a team of four detectives who’ve closed down drug-rings all over the city. He’s smart, tough and exceptionally good at his job. He’s also a closeted gay man.

Enter Kira Takeo Franco, the new boxing coach at the gym. Matthew can’t deny his immediate attraction to the man his fellow cops know as Frankie. But in allowing himself to fall in love with a man known to his colleagues, Matthew risks outing them both.

Matt and Kira work to keep their relationship and private lives hidden from Matt’s very public life, fearing it would be detrimental to their careers. But it’s not the other cops who Matthew should be worried about finding out his deepest, darkest secret…. It’s the bad guys.

A very quick WIP update: Galaxies and Oceans is now at 44k words. I’m thinking it’ll be around 80K all said and done. 🙂  Not sure how much writing I’ll get done this week – I have fair bit happening in RL but I’m aiming for as much as I can.

Okay, that’s it for this week. Until next week… where I might have a cover reveal for Three’s Company re-release! <3

  • Good Morning Monday ~ Weekly Update!

Just a super quick post from me today!  I’ve had a pretty crap week to be honest, and my writing hasn’t been great. But all word counts are good word counts, so I’ll take what I can get. Fingers crossed this week will be better all round 🙂

WiP update: Galaxies and Oceans is at 34K, and we’ve one attempted kiss and one rebuff. LOL!!  I’d LOVE to write 10K this week but given I have a re-release and I’m arguing with Createspace about copyright of two books, it’s probably not likely!

Taxes and TARDIS is due for re-release on the 22nd. I can not wait for this to be out again!!

And the issue with Createspace (the paperback division of Amazon) seems to be on-going. They’ve pulled the paperbacks of Finders Keepers and Elements of Retrofit, requesting verification of copyright. The thing is, according to them via the two phone calls I’ve made to the US about this, is that they’re understaffed and won’t have a human to look at the issue until probably next Wednesday. Helpful, huh?

I apologise to any readers who this has inconvenienced. Fingers crossed the issue is resolved soon, and favourably.

In other news, I have registered as a Featured Author for GRL2018 which is in Virginia this year. BUT I should preface this with my attendance will depend on my daughter’s end of year exams. In Australia, we have 2-3 weeks of final exams, and they’re usually around October. I’m waiting for the school to confirm, so I’ll make my decision after that. So, my attendance at this point is pending.

Hopefully I’ll know soon and can start planning 🙂

That’s it for this week! I told you it was short. LOL  I’ll see you all next Monday!

    Until then… <3

  • Good Morning Monday ~ Cover reveal for Taxes and TARDIS re-release!!

Good Morning Monday!! God, these Mondays just keep coming at me, fast. It also didn’t help that last week I scheduled the post to go out on Sunday and not Monday LOL People who know me shouldn’t be surprised… 😛

So, Finders Keepers had a spectacular week! Truly. #1 in Gay Romance, but also #56 in all of Amazon store in the Fiction category. That’s kind of awesome! So a HUGE thank you to everyone who bought or rented Finders Keepers, and to those who reviewed. Every little thing helps visibility, so thank you!

WIP update:  Galaxies and Oceans (now the confirmed title) is at 27K. I didn’t get as much written as I’d have liked, but I’m happy with the progress. Especially with what I have going on in real life, and a release week. Oh, and edits on a re-release too…

Which brings me to my next thing…

The re-release of Taxes and TARDIS! I am SO excited to get the rights back to this book. Like REEEEEALLY excited! This was the first book I ever published, so to get it back from the publisher makes my heart very happy!

Re-release date is Feb 22nd (Amazon willing) and it has been re-edited, though no new content has been added since the 2015 edition. (The 2015 edition had an epilogue added) and of course, the GORGEOUS new cover.

I simply adored the very first cover this book ever had. And when Silver Publishing disappeared, so did that version. But I loved the cover so much, I contacted the original cover artist and asked if I could replicate it and make it my own.

I’m so very happy to show you, the forever-cover for Taxes and TARDIS…

The new edition will be just 99c for a limited time!

I’ll post the links when it goes live ASAP!

And in VERY exciting audio news, Spencer Cohen Book One will be out Feb 16th!!!  You can see it now on Tantor’s site, and it will hit Audible SOON! I can’t wait!!

Okay, that’s it for this week! Have a good one everybody, and I’ll see you next week! Until then…

    <3

  • Good Morning Monday! Finders Keepers is OUT NOW and a giveaway!

What an exciting release day it was for Finders Keepers!!  I’m so thrilled that everyone seems to have enjoyed Dane and Griffin’s story, and Wicket too, of course. 🙂  It’s a feel-good light-hearted story that readers have appreciated. Real life and the political climate we live in have provided enough angst for us all lately, so a dose of fluff and sunshine really seemed to hit the mark with a lot of people!

It went straight to #2 in the US and UK and #1 in Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, and France. I’m so very honoured, and completely humbled. Thank you to everyone who took a chance on me, and who continue to read and love my boys. <3

You can find Finders Keepers on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited. The Global Amazon/KU link is: http://mybook.to/FindersKeepersNRW

    Blurb

Needing a change of scene, Griffin Burke moves from Brisbane to Coolum Beach to start a new job. The beautiful white sand, aqua-coloured ocean, blue skies, and summer breezes are everything he longs for. What he finds is a mud-covered dog, lost and hungry, with a nametag and a phone number.
Dane Hughes is stuck in Surfers Paradise at a week-long work conference when he gets a phone call from his distraught mother. His dog, his fur baby, Wicket, has run away. Unable to leave and feeling helpless and miserable, he gets a text from a guy. “I think I found your dog…”
Griffin and Dane start talking, and Griffin agrees to look after Wicket until Dane can collect him. With a few days left before his new job starts, Griffin takes Wicket on some coastal adventures and sends Dane photos of their fun, and so the start of something new and kind of wonderful begins.
Griffin might have moved to Coolum in search of a new life, but what he finds is so much more. What he gets to keep just might take some four-legged help.

    Now about that giveaway!!

Go to this link: FINDERS KEEPERS GIVEAWAY to enter!!

Prizes include 2 x $20 Amazon gift cards, 2 x signed paperbacks of Finders Keepers and some other great prizes!!

My weekly WIP update: Galaxies and Oceans is now at 17K words. I was hoping to crack the 20K (I like even numbers LOL) but release day of Finders Keepers put a stop to that. The two main characters, Patrick and Aubrey, are just beautiful. I’m really loving their story at the moment!

Still aiming for a June release!

On Facebook, I’m part of a group called Queer Romance Freebie Fan Club, or QRFFC for short. There’s a bunch of authors who like to randomly give stuff away 🙂 Feel free to join! But we’ve started a thing where we do Q&A so members can get to know the hosting authors, and I thought I’d share the weekly questions with you!

This week’s question was: “How did you decide to write in your genre?”

My answer:  “I didn’t really ‘decide’ – I found m/m in fanfiction and have only rarely gone back to male/female pairings. The characters that speak to me are male, and LGBT. Until that changes, I’m here to stay.”

Not very exciting LOL! But I hope you’ll find the little snippets and fun facts of me as a writer interesting.

This coming week, I have days when I won’t be writing, so my word count won’t be great. But sometimes it can’t be helped. Real life has to intervene sometimes, right?  But next Monday I’ll be showing off the new cover of Taxes and TARDIS, scheduled for re-release on Feb 22nd! It’s been re-edited, but no new content has been added since the 2015 edition.

    Until then… <3

  • Good Morning Monday!

The new week brings with it new beginnings! I’ve finished the first round of edits on Finders Keepers, and the first round of revisions on the first draft of Evolved, and I’ve been researching a few things for a story I want to start next week.

Also, this week I found out I won a stack of awards at the Goodreads M/M Group Members’ Choice Awards!

BEST FAMILY DRAMA SECOND PLACE SWITCHED

BEST WHITE COLLAR THIRD PLACE SWITCHED

Don’t forget, Finders Keepers is coming soon! February 2nd to be exact.  ARCs should be going out real soon, and I can NOT wait to share Dane and Griffin’s story with you all! Aussie summer sun, ocean breezes, and new romance loving is just what everyone needs right now, right? 😉

    Blurb:

Needing a change of scene, Griffin Burke moves from Brisbane to Coolum Beach to start a new job. The beautiful white sand, aqua-coloured ocean, blue skies, and summer breezes are everything he longs for. What he finds is a mud-covered dog, lost and hungry, with a nametag and a phone number.

Griffin might have moved to Coolum in search of a new life, but what he finds is so much more. What he gets to keep just might take some four-legged help.

This coming week, I want to start my next story! I only have the bare bones of an idea (you know I’m a pantser, right? I don’t plan/outline anything LOL) so I’m hoping to start with Chapter One and go from there! 🙂

    Until then… <3

  • Good Morning Monday ~ 2018 has started with a bang!

Yes, 2018 has hit the ground running, that’s for sure! This week alone:

    • I wrote 12K to finish the first draft of Evolved – release will be April
    • I received edits on Finders Keepers – release 2nd Feb
    • I edited Sense of Place and formatted for ebook and paperback (re-release is Jan 17th)
    • Release of the Italian translation of Spencer Cohen Book Three
    • Beta-read 75K story for a friend
    • Had The Weight of It All win Audio of the Year at Open Skye Reviews!
    • Had Imago win 2nd place as Book of the Year at Open Skye Reviews
    • And The Weight of It All was featured on AudioFile, where Joel won an Earphones Award for the incredible narration, and for a LGBT book – this is kind of HUGE!
    • Went through a tonne of admin stuff, including meetings with my accountant, organising blitz tours, ARC tours, and super exciting secret squirrel stuff.

I’m sure there is something else I’m forgetting… But as you can see, it’s been quite a week.

My time at My Fiction Nook as Author of the Month continues!  You can read my latest post HERE and you can enter the draw to win an ebook!

Yes, my current WIP is called Evolved, and should be out in April. It’s 60K long (unedited) and I will be spending this week going through it, fixing/tweaking/adding/deleting before sending it off to beta readers. I’ve kept details of this one close to my chest as it’s quite different, and I’ll wait until I hear back from my betas to see what they think.

I did buy a pre-made cover for this about six months ago, but it’s really not right for the story, so I have asked Reese Dante to conjure up some magic for me 🙂

Speaking of Reese Dante and incredibly awesome covers, I don’t believe I’ve shown you the cover for Sense of Place!

In keeping with the first two covers, this will be the forever cover for Sense of Place, and it’s perfect!

    And the paperback is GORGEOUS!!

I have the proof of the paperback and can’t wait to hit approve! The three covers together look stunning and I am SO happy to have these boys back under my creative control <3

For my Italian readers, Spencer Cohen Book Three is out now!

I’m hoping for another busy (read: productive) week. Lots to do and plan for my next book!  I have a pre-made cover for it, the location, and how it begins… now I just need the unimportant stuff like character names/histories, title, and plot LOL!

    Until then… <3
