Turning Point

  • FREEBIE ALERT! One Day Only…

Point of No Return is 10 years old today!

This book has been through a lot: two different publishers, many covers, many editions. I finally got the rights back and had new forever-covers made in 2017… it seems like a lifetime ago.

Matt and Kira were my first original fiction boys that I ever wrote. I fully intended to write another fanfiction but these boys in my head were new to me and had their own story to tell. And I’d had many fanfic readers telling me I should write original fiction – so I did.

And Matt and Kira were born.

Ten whole years ago. What a crazy ride it’s been.

For their 10th birthday, I wanted to share this book with everyone. It will be free for ONE DAY ONLY!

And it’s already the 28th in Australia so grab it now!

Oh, and it’s whispersynced for audio – so if you love audio, grab it while it’s super cheap. Narrated by Sean Crisden, and he did an amaaaazing job.

  • Good Morning Monday! Mother’s Day Update!

    Happy Mother’s Day!

Even though it’s Monday here, it’s still Sunday somewhere, so I hope you have a great day! I spent the weekend at basketball and doing housework. Exciting life I lead. LOL Though I did get out of cooking dinner.

I had a busy week and managed a pretty good word count on Private Charter.  I’m at 44K and I believe they’re now on Day 4 of their 12 cruise around the Whitsundays. They are Foster and Stuart, they’re a super sweet couple and I’m thoroughly enjoying writing their story. It’s turned cold here, so writing a book about the steamy hot tropics is a little weird. LOL

I’m not sure how much writing I’ll get done this week. I have a bit happening in RL. I want to have the first draft finished, or close to being finished, before I start edits on Galaxies and Oceans – which should be in about two weeks.

I’m hoping to have Galaxies and Oceans out on June 23rd, or thereabouts. I’ll keep you all posted on that, and I’ll be releasing the cover soon!!

A super quick reminder about my audio books! I had two audio’s come out recently. Spencer Cohen Book Three, and Breaking Point! If you’re new to audio, or thinking of trying it, you can get your first credit free!

    Spencer Cohen, Book Three

    Breaking Point

Okay, that’s it for this week. Short and sweet. Like me. LOL  Until then… <3

  • Good Morning Monday ~ Holy crap, tomorrow is the first of May!

Tomorrow is May. Truly. This year is almost half done. I can’t believe it. But, as the saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun… I’ve been crazy-busy. I mean, I’m always busy. I rarely ever get a minute to myself – I’m not even exaggerating LOL

This last week I took my daughter and niece to Sydney for a Harry Styles concert. I singlehandedly propped up the New South Wales economy for a while with the amount of shopping two teenage girls subjected me to, we spent a day at Taronga Zoo (my niece had never been on a ferry or to Taronga, so we rectified that) and we had a fab time. I was off social media (mostly) and it’s always nice to take a mental health break.

A little off topic here, but social media is a huge commitment for me. My main ones are Facebook –  with my general timeline, author page, and several groups – and Twitter, and Instagram. Don’t get me wrong, I do love them, but wow, it’s also a lot of work. I constantly worry that I’ll miss notifications or messages and people will think I’m snobbing them or ignoring them, so I do try and check and double check. It’s not always easy. Especially with FB being so hit and miss with any/all notifications and posts, so I do apologise if I have missed anyone.

I  love the interaction with readers, and friendships I’ve made online. I cherish them, I really do. But taking a day or two every now and then to spend time doing other things is absolutely recommended. I can’t be available to everyone 24/7. Not to readers, not to family. And no, not even to Ruby (my dog) as much as she doesn’t agree with, or understand, to be honest. She was VERY happy to see me when I got home. There was a LOT of kisses and zoomies. LOL

I also got home to a LOT of messages, posts, comments, and emails expressing utter LOVE for Evolved, which was wonderful! I am so thrilled that people are loving Shaun and Lloyd. I know that anything sci-fi tends to turn some people off, but loyal readers have been taking a chance and finding themselves thoroughly enjoying it (and 99% of people would like their very own Shaun. LOL Get in line. I’m first. haha)

For anyone who has missed it…

In Audio News! Breaking Point is OUT NOW and Spencer Cohen Book Three is up for pre-order!!  I love hearing my books in audio… it’s such a thrill for me. And these two do NOT disappoint.

Sean Crisden does an amazing job as Matthew Elliott in Breaking Point. Truly amazing. The pain and anguish Matt goes through really shines with Sean at the helm. You can find them at:

    Audible

    Amazon

Joel Leslie is a stellar performer and his portrayal of Spencer and Andrew just might be my favourite yet.

You can pre-order Spencer Cohen, Book Three at Audible

If you’re new to audio, you can always listen to the sample first. And if you sign up to Audible, your first book is free! And they give you a credit for one book a month when you subscribe. It’s an awesome way to enjoy all your favourite books!

WIP Update: Since I was away for half the week, I didn’t get as much writing done as I’d have liked. My WIP, called Private Charter, is up to 24K. I was hoping this story would be about 50K in total, but given one MC has hired a yacht for two weeks and it’s taken me 24K to get them to day 2 of the venture, I’m thinking it might be a little longer…  LOL

I also have visitors this week and my kids go back to school on Tuesday, which means all sporting activities every afternoon also start again (you know how I said I’m always busy? Yeah, I wasn’t kidding LOL) therefore I have no clue how much I will get written this week. I want ALL the words but I highly doubt that’ll happen.

Oh, and I know I’ve previoulsy mentioned Thai translations but I can now confirm the following:

    – SIXTY FIVE HOURS – mid 2018 (so, that means soon!)
    – CRONIN’S KEY series – beginning in March 2019
    – RED DIRT HEART series – beginning in March 2020
    – FINDERS KEEPERS – October 2020
I’m super excited to see these! I can’t wait to share the covers with you asap.
Okay, that’s it for this week. *wipes brow* I need a holiday LOL  I hope everyone has a great week and I’ll see you next Monday! Until then…
  • Good Morning Sunday… wait what? aka the Turning Point Edition

I’m a day early because it’s only Sunday but I have something to share with you 🙂

Breaking Point (Turning Point, Book 2) is now live on Amazon, and to celebrate, all Turning Point books will be 99c each. The sale will only last a week, so be sure to grab it while you can! That’s almost 800 pages for just $3.00!!

NEW BUY LINKS FOR BREAKING POINT ARE:

    Amazon Universal Link

    Smashwords

    iTunes

Breaking Point should be 99c everywhere – except Australia and Canada (because Amazon hates us and we have to pay $1.30). The other two books are only on sale at Amazon, because of pricing-matching restraints.

And for the other Turning Point books, you can check out these links on sale at Amazon only:

Point of No Return (Turning Point, Book One)

    Amazon Universal Link

Starting Point (Turning Point, Book Three)

Matt & Kira are where it all kind of started for me. They were the first book I submitted for publication back in 2011, and to this day they are, and forever will be, very special to me.

In case you’ve forgotten what I envisioned them to look like, here’s a little picspiration for you! 😉

Marlon Teixeira as Kira Takeo Franco
    Daniel Craig as Matthew Elliot

I hope you enjoy this super sale! I won’t be doing my usual Good Morning Monday post, but I’ll see you all next week!

    Until then…  <3

  • Good Morning Monday and what a bloody week it was!

OMG this week… So busy, but productive, thank God! What I got done this week:

    • Wrote 16,000 words to finish the first draft of On Davis Row 🙂
    • Wrote the blurb for On Davis Row (I swear, the 92K word story was easier lol)
    • Completed edits on 82,000 words for the re-release of Breaking Point (Oct 27th)
    • Organised/ordered 96 paperback pre-order books to be delivered to Denver
    • The Weight Of It All was released on Audio
    • Negotiated a contract for all FOUR Spencer Cohen books to be done in Audio
    • Imagines and Perfect Catch came off KU and went to other retailers
    • Set up a CafePress store!

Not to mention the real life/mum things I’ve been doing all week. My kids go back to school this week, so I’ll have some free hours to get everything ready for my big trip to America next week!

Speaking of my trip, I leave home early early next Monday morning (16th) so there’s a very good chance there will be NO post from me next week. And the following Monday, I’ll be in Denver, travelling back to LA, ready to fly home at midnight. So there might not be a post from me for the next two weeks. I’ll be sure to make up for it though with lots of pics when I return.

I’m so excited to meeting up with everyone again, and meeting new faces! I can’t wait!!

For those who may have missed previous posts, this is the gorgeous cover for On Davis Row. I can’t share the blurb yet because it’s unedited. Release date should be late November 🙂

I can’t remember if I’ve shared with you the new cover for Breaking Point… The very talented Reese Dante made the three covers for the re-releases. Due to be out on October 27th, Breaking Point has been re-edited and tidied but no new content has been added.

Be sure to grab POINT OF NO RETURN (book 1 in the Turning Point Series) while it’s still on special for just 99c!

The audio of The Weight of it All was released this week to RAVE reviews! I’m so thrilled people are enjoying Henry and Reed’s story in audio as much as the book, and the wonderful narrator, Joel Leslie, really brings Henry to life.

You can find it at Audible HERE

Tantor Audio have requested all FOUR Spencer Cohen books!!  I’m beyond stoked for these boys to go to audio, especially Yanni’s Story, which I’d never have been able to afford to self-pub into audio because of its length. No dates yet, but I’m imagining they’ll be spread out over next year! Stay tuned for more details.

All my books will be coming out of Kindle Unlimited for now. If and/or when I decide to put them back remains to be seen. They probably will but I’m happy for them to go wide at the time being. (New releases will be in KU and Spencer Cohen 1 has two more months).

Imagines is the next title to be released wide.

You can now find Imagines at:

    Smashwords

    Payhip

And I’ll share the links to B&N and iBooks when they become available.

Perfect Catch is also going wide!

You can find it at Smashwords and Payhip!

Other retail sites to follow asap!

And my new swag store is now at Cafe Press!! There are lots of new and fun products, so be sure to check them out!

So that’s all my news this week! This week will be busy with travel plans and getting packed and organised. I have some real life things to take care of this week before I leave, so I doubt there’ll be any writing, maybe some tweaking of drafts etc, but that’s about it.

    Until then… <3

  • Good Morning Monday ~ Another Monday!

Another week! Holy hell, these weeks just keep flying by. The year is more than half over, and it’s now just three months til I leave for GRL. This year is just flying by!

I spent this last week getting Yanni’s Story off to my editor, and burying my sanity in accounts and taxes. And believe me, my brain is not wired for numbers. LOL   I have the majority of my accounts done (July 31 is EOFY in Australia) so I need to get thinking about which story I’ll be diving into next.

The truth is, no characters are talking to me like they usually do. Maybe that’s my brain telling me I need a week off after writing almost 70K last month! I have so many books to read, so this is not a hardship… I just also have equally as many stories to be written. And I suffer writer-guilt when I’m not writing! If I spend time reading, I keep thinking “that could have been X amount of words instead”…

    *sigh*

Anywhoooo, I’ll have to see what my characters and my brain can agree on. LOL

As you guys know, Point of No Return is now re-released on Amazon and I’ve approved the proof, so the paperback should be available any day!

You can also find it in ebook at:

    iBooks

    B&N

    Smashwords

I’m still hoping to have Yanni’s story out in the last week of August, though that will be a very tight deadline. My proofreaders may never forgive me when I send them a 120K story and tell them I need it back in like three days LOL

I also have the re-release of Elements of Retrofit due in the first week of September! And Breaking Point re-release in October! Not to mention travelling half way around the world. So it’s a busy time for me with edits and cover art prelims… and speaking of covers, I’ll be sharing the cover to Yanni’s Story next week. I have shown it to a few Facebook peeps, but I’ll be posting the cover right here in my usual Monday post next week!

    Until then…

    <3

  • Good Morning Monday! Point of No Return is baaaaack!!

Yes, that’s right!!  The rights to Point of No Return have been returned to me! I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am about that! It was my first ever submitted book, way back in 2011 (subbed in 2011, published in 2012) and what a roller coaster this poor book has had! It’s had two publishers (the first being Silver – no more needs to be said on that matter LOL) and it’s short lifespan, this new edition will be its FOURTH cover.

No wonder people are confused, right??

Just so we’re clear, this new edition has been re-edited and has a bright and shiny new cover, but there’s no additional content. The story hasn’t changed.

It will have an introductory price of $2.99 for a week before it goes up to the permanent price of $3.99.

I’m waiting on Amazon to approve it (I’m expecting delays because of the proof of ownership/copyright, so stay tuned!)

I simply LOVE the new covers for this series. They’re really getting back to the original cover art design, which was utterly perfect. Reese Dante did an outstanding job recapturing the original. I just love Matt and Kira (and Sal and Yumi) and I’m so thrilled to have this book back!

In other news, Yanni’s Story is now with some pre-readers and I’ll be sending it to my editor asap. The first draft came in at 119K words! I have shown the cover in my private Facebook readers’ group, but I’ll be showing it off to the world soon, I promise!

I’d like to pick a release date for late August, though it will depend totally on edits. I could very well be crying in my coffee until September… 😉

Personal update on me – I seem to be managing my Chronic Fatigue okay. Though this week, after travelling away and being busy with my son’s tennis from 6am until 9pm every day, I have contracted some god-awful chest infection. I’m on antibiotics and a few other types of medications, but it has wiped me. I’m exhausted. My kids also have this week off school, which does mean that they’ll be home every day in my workspace, but it also means I can sleep in! YAY!  🙂

Now, the biggest question is… which story to start next? Decisions, decisions… Normally I have impatient characters who are yelling at me for their story, but they’ve all gone quiet. Maybe they’re kindly waiting for me to feel better, or waiting until I’ve finished my taxes *lol/sob*   I have ten thousand ideas in my plot-bunny folder, but no disgruntled characters in my head, demanding to be written. It’s kind of a toss-up between three ideas – one crime novella trilogy, one fluffy surfer/lifesaver stand alone, or a hugely plotty paranormal that I love the idea of, but after writing Yannis’ 119k in 8 weeks, I think I need something easy… It will all come down to which guys want their story first. As I’ve always said, I don’t get to choose – I’m just the typist. 😉

    Until next week! <3

  • Good Morning Monday ~ Mother’s Day Edition and a Cover Reveal!

Technically it’s Monday here in Australia, but for the majority of the world it’s still Sunday – so Happy Mother’s Day! To all those who are celebrating, I hope you have a fab day.

So, how did I spend my Mother’s Day?  Well, I was up at 6am to get my son to a day-long tennis tournament. Yes, some idiot schedules tournaments on Mother’s Day. So, instead of getting a sleep-in, I was courtside, freezing to death, with a bunch of other parents (who are, let’s be honest here, mostly the mums). On the bright side, there was takeout for dinner, which is always a win! 🙂

Last week I actually tried and did manage to get some writing done. YAY ME!!!  But I also had two friends tell me that I looked awful – which was good in a weird way because they were validating what is essentially an invisible illness. I mean, I feel like shit so I guess it’s only right that I look it. LOL  But no one really likes to hear that they look like crap – and these were days that I actually thought I was doing okay. *sigh*  Anyway, a quick update for those who may not know… I have recently been given a diagnosis of why I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus. It’s called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Just in case you missed my last few posts.

Anywhooooooo, enough of the misery-me and back to the writing part… Yes, I did the words last week. Not many, but words nonetheless!  Yanni’s Story is now at 27K words and is probably one third done. I know, right? It’s gonna be a long one! Part of me worries that the beginning is too drawn out, but Yanni has been through a lot and is dealing with the ramifications of having who he is, his innocence, and his self-worth, ripped away from him.

So I can’t rush this. And if you’ve read The Spencer Cohen Series, you know Yanni was in an abusive relationship. Anyone who has dealt with domestic violence knows this is not something you can just ‘get over’ because someone wants to get to the fluffy part of the book. There’s a process of healing I need to respect here.

I’ve said it many times, my characters talk to me, like they’re a real person. Just in my head. I need to respect my characters… So if that means it’s 50k words long before we even get a kiss between Yanni and Peter, then so be it. Though I’m sure most of my readers know me well enough by now to know that my books aren’t sex-focused anyway.

I don’t know why I feel like I need to justify myself LOL. I’ll just keep writing (albeit slowly) and see how it pans out.

I have the cover for Yanni’s Story, but I don’t want to reveal it just yet in case it jinxes my newly recovered word-flow.  Stay tuned though. It won’t be far away…

In other cover news… I wanted to show off my new Turning Point Series covers. The rights are being returned to me in July (Point of No Return) and October (Breaking Point) You’ve all seen the new Starting Point, as I re-released it last year. But I wanted to show the other two!

As I explained when I re-released Starting Point, now having creative control over the cover design, I wanted to get back to the very original designs done by Silver Publishing back in 2012/13. Luckily for me, the brilliant cover artist who worked on them was the lovely Reese Dante, who is still very active/prominent in the M/M community. Sooo, I asked, given the original designs were hers, if she’d like to redo them for me! And she said yes!!

So, Point of No Return will be re-edited and re-released after July 5th, and Breaking Point will be after 25th October. There won’t be new content added. I figure after their fourth ‘re-release’ in five years, it’s time to just let them be.

I can’t explain how happy I am to be getting Matt and Kira back. Like, so so so much!! And here are the GORGEOUS covers, by Reese Dante!

    Aren’t they just beautiful??  🙂

Okay, so that’s enough blathering for one day. 😉 Until next week…

    <3

  • Good Morning Monday! An outtake and a Kindle Unlimited Update.

    Good Morning Monday pic

Wow, these Mondays are coming around fast! Another busy week has gone by, and an even busier week ahead for me, but I remind myself that busy is productive… and exhausting and enough to drive me crazy LOL but here I am!

First, to celebrate getting the rights back to, and the re-release of Starting Point, I have added an outtake to my blog. You can read it HERE or find it in the Menu under Outtakes 🙂

Now for the Kindle Unlimited update. I have had quite a few readers contact me in the last few weeks asking if any of my older books will ever be added to KU. To be honest, I hadn’t thought of it, I don’t know why.  About a year ago, I added my Blind Faith books to KU, given they were first released in 2012, and found them being read/borrowed/bought with a vengeance – which was fab! I can’t deny they found me new readers.  So after these readers asked me about putting some other books on KU, I decided to add my Cronin’s Key trilogy to KU.  They’ve been a little stagnant on other sites for a while, so here’s hoping they’ll find their way onto some Kindles they might not have otherwise.

I’m still debating adding my Red Dirt Heart Series to KU. Given it was released two years ago (OMG can you believe that?) it makes sense to broaden their readership.  If I do add them to KU, I’ll have to do it soon – the ninety day cycle will end a month or so before I leave for the US, so I’ll be suuuuper busy with other things then and won’t really have the time to worry about re-adding books back to all other platforms.

At this point, Cronin’s Key will only be doing one cycle (90 days) on KU then will go back to other sites. This will depend on their success of course. If the KU market makes it viable for them to stay for a second cycle, then they will.

So, as of right now and for the next three months, the only place you can find the Cronin’s Key trilogy, is Amazon.

That being said, I’ve nominated my Spencer Cohen series to NOT do another cycle on KU. So, as their 90 day KU cycles expires, they’ll be added to all other platforms.  Spencer One is June 14 (or thereabouts) Spencer Two is July 19, and Spencer Three is August 21.

And now for some translation news!  Cronin’s Key 1 will be out in French later this month!   And, Red Dirt Heart will be out in Italian later this month also!! *twirls* Red Dirt Heart will also be out in French later this year! I will post links when I have them 🙂

    Until next week…  <3
